An award for contributing to the spread of the Italy brand worldwide, supporting the tourism industry and Made in Italy. It was received yesterday in the United States (specifically in Washington, DC) by Minister Daniela Santanchè, engaged in a cross-government mission aimed at strengthening relations between Italy and the United States of America.
Thanking for the award, the government representative emphasized the importance of teamwork: "this is not an award for me, but for the team, for all those who passionately, resiliently, and creatively carry forward Made in Italy. If today Italy is famous in the world, it owes it to Made in Italy, which is expressed in every field: from hospitality, which we have made an art, to yacht production, fashion, and food and wine. In short, when we Italians do things, we do them big".
During the evening – as reported by ANSA – Daniela Santanchè also thanked the Americans for their great contribution to Italian tourism, stating: "today there is more desire to collaborate and strengthen our partnerships, and this is thanks to the relations between President Trump and our Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni".
Earlier that same day, she had opened the panel "Tourism and Territorial Branding: Innovation, Sustainability, Infrastructure, and Investments for a New Brand Experience" within the meeting "WTTI - Working Together To Invest", as part of the Transatlantic Partnership on Investments."
"The dialogue we are developing these days in Washington represents a valuable and unique opportunity to strengthen the ties between our respective entrepreneurial ecosystems – she emphasized -. The stability of the Meloni government - she added - has created the foundations to encourage investments in the sector, as demonstrated by the recent WTTC Global Summit in Rome. Tourism is transversal, creates value, and this Italy-United States partnership is capable of generating value significantly".
The Ministry of Tourism, on the occasion of Italy Design Week, reminds that, according to estimates from the statistical office, design consolidates the experiential value of tourism, increasingly sought after by visitors. Just think that 8% of trips include visits to artisan workshops and over 21% of cultural holidays are dedicated to the productive world. From the clothing and fashion sector to agri-food, from automation to furniture and design, Made in Italy - worth over 400 billion euros with an export of 640 billion - is a driver of growth and development for the tourism industry and represents a source of wealth for the Nation, as well as conferring prestige and visibility to the Italy brand.
The trip to the United States represents a new phase in the Ministry's commitment to attract further investments in the Italian tourism industry, increasingly central to the socio-economic development of the Nation, as well as a key element for consolidating international relations and, in particular, the transatlantic ties between Italy and the USA, always marked by mutual respect and friendship.
