Rome showcases UNESCO heritage with the World Tourism Event 2025, taking place today and tomorrow.
In the heart of the Jubilee, the “eternal city” confirms its status as the capital of cultural tourism, welcoming operators, enthusiasts, and schools in the picturesque complex of Santo Spirito in Sassia, just a stone's throw from St. Peter's. The event is a unique opportunity to discover how UNESCO sites can become engines of sustainable development, cultural innovation, and economic growth.
The WTE is the only international event entirely dedicated to UNESCO sites and this year focuses on sustainability, digitalization, and community participation.
Workshops, B2B meetings, conferences, and activities reserved for schools will allow everyone to discuss the challenges and opportunities of cultural tourism. During the event, the Mario Bagnara Award for Sustainable Tourism will be awarded, recognizing innovative projects and initiatives capable of enhancing heritage through technology.
The World Tourism Event 2025, now in its 16th edition, remains an unmissable appointment for those who love culture, history, and conscious travel, offering a concrete opportunity to reflect on the importance of protecting UNESCO sites and the role of cultural tourism as a lever for global development.
A well-established event that is structured into three main moments: the exhibition area, the workshop, and the events and experiences area.
The exhibition area is reserved not only for Italian World Heritage Sites but also for all tourism operators who wish to offer experiences to fully enjoy the vacation related to UNESCO Heritage.
The B2B workshop is reserved for international buyers, selected in collaboration with ENIT, and for Italian sellers operating in areas included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The events and experiences area is designed as a dynamic space where exhibitions and discussions on topics of particular interest alternate with demonstrations, book presentations, and experiences that can be had during visits to World Heritage sites.
The WTE is organized, among others, with the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
