After graduating from high school at 17, he earned a degree in philosophy, specializing in Epistemology of Human Sciences in Milan. He also completed a two-year postgraduate specialization course in Family Therapy with a systemic-relational focus at Niguarda Hospital. Dissatisfied with the sterile foundations of certain theories and the questionable nature of their associated clinical practice, he rejected several collaboration proposals and began various entrepreneurial ventures. While riding his motorcycle through the mountains of Abruzzo, he discovered the village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio and decided to launch a project to restore and protect the Minor Historical Heritage that today is Sextantio Ospitalità Diffusa, with the Sextantio Albergo Diffuso hotels in Santo Stefano di Sessanio and Sextantio Le Grotte della Civita in Matera (www.sextantio.it). For the high cultural and entrepreneurial value of the Sextantio restoration project, in 2016 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Tor Vergata in Rome. At the same time, he is dedicated to humanitarian activities in Africa, including the construction of a pediatric hospital in Congo and a health insurance project for the poor in Rwanda. In 2019, Condé Nast Traveler magazine included him in its list of the 25 most influential people who have changed the way we travel. In May 2022, he launched the Hut Project on Nkombo Island, in Lake Kivu, Rwanda (www.sextantiorwanda.com), the proceeds of which will be used to pay for health insurance for the poor for easily treatable diseases at negligible cost. The project will be clinically evaluated in collaboration with the San Raffaele Hospital.
