Alessia Mariotti, Full Professor of Economic and Political Geography, was Director of the Center for Advanced Studies on Tourism at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna from 2014 to 2018.
She has conducted research on cultural tourism, local development, sustainable development, and strategic planning for the enhancement of cultural and tourism resources and cultural itineraries.
She teaches Tourism Geography at the Rimini Campus, of which she is President. Since 2024, she has been a member of the Board of the IGU Tourism, Leisure and Global Change Commission.
