Job title: Lecturer and researcher, strategy and IT consultant for tourist destinations
He has been a lecturer in Tourism Analytics and Digital Strategies for Tourism at the Master's in Tourism Economics and is a Research Fellow at the Dondena Center for Research on Social Dynamics and Public Policies at Bocconi University in Milan. He has been involved in computer science and telematic networks for over thirty years, with experience in various companies, both in Italy and abroad. His research focuses on the transformations that information technologies have brought to the world of tourism and the study of complex systems and networks with the application of analysis and simulation models for tourist destinations. He has published half a dozen books and about a hundred articles for international conferences and scientific journals. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a member of the Italian Physical Society, of IFITT (International Federation for IT and Travel & Tourism), and was a founding member of the Internet Society, Italian section. In 2017, he received the Hannes Werthner Tourism and Technology Lifetime Achievement Award from IFITT.
