In the landscape of outdoor hospitality, FAITA Federcamping confirms itself as a national reference point and an authoritative voice of a constantly evolving sector. The Federation represents campsites and tourist villages and will be among the protagonists of BTM Italia 2026 with a dedicated intervention on Wednesday, February 25 at 14:00 in the Hospitality room. With the meeting: “Open Air – Resource for the South. Quality, sustainability, and innovation for tourism” a focus on hospitality sustainability, accessibility, and permeability with the territory is proposed. Characteristics of Open Air tourism that today represents one of the most dynamic expressions of the entire national tourism sector, thanks to high-quality standards, advanced services, and a strong experiential vocation of its offer.
On this occasion, the growth prospects of the sector will be outlined: from regulatory simplification for mobile homes to the development and application of artificial intelligence, to the qualification of services offered to guests. A path that aims to enhance corporate culture and management, with sustainability, accessibility, and innovation as central directives. Among the announced speakers are Hon. Gianluca Caramanna, group leader of FdI in the Productive Activities, Commerce and Tourism Commission and advisor to the Minister of Tourism, Marco Sperapani, General Director of FAITA Federcamping, and Luca Vescovi of OpenRosetta.ai, involved in the FAITA Open Air Hub project dedicated to research and development. The interventions converge towards the redefinition of Open Air as a strategic lever for economic and employment development, particularly in the South. A sector that looks to the future with concrete tools and an increasingly structured vision.
FAITA (Federation of Italian Associations of outdoor tourist accommodation) is the most representative organization of the sector. Among the founding members of Confturismo, it adheres to Confcommercio and EFCO&HPA, the European representation body of the sector. Founded in the 1950s at the initiative of the main entrepreneurs in the sector, in over seventy years of activity, it has accompanied the growth of a sector that today counts about 2,600 companies in Italy, most of which are associated with their respective regional FAITA. The Federation is also a signatory of the National Collective Labor Agreement for the Tourism sector, coordinates and implements services for regional Associations (conjunctural observatory, studies, publications, agreements, and conventions), promotes the culture of outdoor tourism through informational tools such as the periodical Camping Management and the digital platform START.
