Ileana Tedesco, born in 1971, studied humanities, earning a Master's Degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures, with a thesis on Australian cinema and the work of Peter Weir. This was the first step in a journey marked by curiosity and an attention to narratives, places, and cultures. After significant experience in banking, finance, and business, she chose to focus her career on what best represents her: local development, environmental education, and sustainable tourism as tools for cultural, economic, and social growth.
She currently works as an Environmental Hiking Guide (AIGAE), a FIS sommelier, an environmental and sustainability educator (ISPRA), a rural tourism operator, and a cultural coordinator for the MAM – Messapian Archaeological Museum of Oria / Regional Tourist Information Point of Oria, guiding individuals and communities in a thoughtful exploration of the landscape, history, and local identities.
Her institutional experience as Councilor for Tourism, Major Events, Entertainment, and Territorial Marketing for the Municipality of Manduria has further strengthened her strategic vision, focused on a type of tourism capable of combining sustainability, culture, and culinary excellence.
Actively involved in the local community and cultural fabric, she is a board member of Legambiente Maruggio, a member of Archeoclub Manduria, and the 72024 APS Association, collaborating with numerous cultural organizations in Puglia on projects to protect, disseminate, and promote tangible and intangible heritage. What drives her work? A boundless and irrepressible passion for holistic knowledge. Professionalism, transversal skills, and a generous dose of resourcefulness are her defining qualities. She is guided by a genuine and profound curiosity for the world and for humanity, understood as an integral part of the landscape we inhabit and protect.
Her motto sums up her vision and daily commitment: "Explore, appreciate, protect."
