Alessandro Gentilucci has been mayor of Pieve Torina, a municipality in the province of Macerata, since 2014. He graduated with honors in Political Science and holds a postgraduate degree in Public Administration Studies. His political career has been profoundly influenced by the management of the emergency and reconstruction following the 2016 earthquake, which severely affected his territory. In addition to leading the municipality, he holds important roles at the supra-municipal level: he is President of the Unione Montana Marca di Camerino, of the National Strategy for Internal Areas of Alto Maceratese, of the AATO 3 Marche Centro Macerata, and holds representative roles in ANCI (National Association of Italian Municipalities) and other local authorities. He was also Vice President of the Monti Sibillini National Park.
Known for his pragmatic and determined approach, Gentilucci has often championed the needs of small inland villages, fighting against depopulation and for the preservation of essential services in mountain areas, starting with schools. Under his administration, Pieve Torina has seen the implementation of innovative projects, such as the "Percorso delle Acque" (Water Path) and the integration of natural wellness systems, aimed at relaunching sustainable tourism.
